Tuesday Is Deadine To Register To Vote In May 17 Election
If you’re planning to vote in the May 17 Special Election, Tuesday is the deadline to register. Oregonians not registered have until 11:59 p.m. to do so, or they won’t receive a ballot in the mail. Andrea Cantu-Schomus is with the Secretary of State’s office. She says residents can fill out a paper registration form at county elections offices or they can register to vote without leaving home. Andrea Cantu-Schomus: “And they can do that using oregonvotes.org, but they must have a valid Oregon Driver’s license, permit or ID card in order to do it online” Cantu-Schomus says no statewide initiatives are on the ballot this May. Instead, voters will decide on measures specific to their counties. Cantu-Schomus says counties will begin mailing ballots on April 29th.
