Latinos make up largest voting-age bloc in Stockton – full power yet to be exercised
Latinos now constitute the largest segment of Stockton’s voting-age population, but so far, they have not been the city’s loudest political voice.
That could be changing.
According to data released last week by the U.S. Census Bureau, Latinos make up 36 percent of the voting-age population in Stockton. Many of them are young, born and raised in the region – and according to some advocates, eager to find roles in mainstream politics.
