'Raza Rocks the Vote' to boost young Latinos' election turnout

SAN ANTONIO -- Local Hispanic groups have speared a campaign to motivate young Latino voters to hit the voting booths on Election Day.

League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) hosted a party, "Raza Rocks the Vote," which included music and food at Rodriguez Park Sunday.

Hispanic elders want the youth to vote to make a difference against discrimination.

"With the Arizona law that passed, we are under attack from every corner of the United States," said Julie Marquez, the event's char. "We need to get together and we need to vote because our vote is our voice."

Both gubernatorial candidates have said an Arizona-style immigration bill would not work in Texas.
